From Mike Evans: Improving Our Website to Better Serve You
Dear Members:
Thank you all for providing your feedback and suggestions on ways we can improve the value of membership. Every business needs to undertake continuous improvement and the Chamber is no different. A common source of constructive criticism from the membership is about the Chamber’s website. In all honesty, I agree with you. We can and will do better.
Today I’m announcing that plans are already underway to build an entirely new website – one befitting of our membership and our status as one of the elite chambers in the nation. The new site will help the Chamber better achieve its mission of promoting Members and our community, while providing better functionality and exposure for all of our events, advocacy and committee programs.
Like everything here at the Chamber, our website doesn’t belong to us; it belongs to you our Members. While we must promote our community and organization, rest assure that marketing our membership and your ease of use is just as important to us in the redesign. We have also made purchasing a membership easier with a new payment gateway setup. We are now fully integrated with highriskaccount.com which will make the processing easier for payments.
We will work with Weblink International, who is recognized as the top provider in our industry. By partnering with Weblink, this important update will come at no cost to the membership or our general budget. Instead, the project will be a self-sustaining upgrade. This will allow us to continue to invest the Chamber’s resources toward improving our programming. Weblink has a strong history in Naperville and across the country and we look forward to another successful campaign.
Working with Weblink also provides the Chamber with internal efficiencies, which are important to our overall operations. Having the website work with our membership and event management database is a necessity. Given the breakneck pace of events, committee meetings, ribbon cuttings and briefings an efficient system is vital.
Along the way if you have suggestions or ideas, please let us know. You will also be invited to participate and visit with representatives from Weblink to explain how we will improve the marketing and advertising benefits of the new website. Currently, we receive 550,000 page views each year from all over the world. With the new site, we will surpass that which means your business will have the opportunity to have even more exposure.
Within the industry the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce has a reputation of being a leader, providing excellent value, and quality programs and services. This reputation is well deserved. With the leadership of the board we will never stop looking for ways to improve and increase the return on your membership investment. We will take a few chances and try out new things.
We have some other important and exciting updates to announce in the coming weeks that you may have heard about already, all about providing you an even better return on your investment in your Chamber. Thank you for your continued involvement and support!
Sincerely,
Michael A. Evans
